“This past summer I visited family in Ohio and took a detour to New York on the way back home. It was truly an amazing experience. The hustle and bustle of the city reminded me of how young and small I am compared to the world and how much I have left to discover. I feel that not only did I fall in love with New York all over again, but that it helped me find myself amongst the chaos life has to offer.”

“I worked at a summer camp in Maine, located at Mt. Blue National Park. I was a Lifeguard, as well as the Baking Class teacher. I worked with many different ages, from 6-year-olds in Junior Camp to senior citizens in Blind Camp. We hosted many activities and classes for them throughout the week, both in the lake and at various places around camp. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and hopefully I’ll be back next year!”

“The day we entered Yosemite park, the ranger at the gate challenged us to go off the beaten track and explore all the many beautiful parts of the park not on all the ‘must see” lists and by doing so avoid the big crowds. We took his advice and had a wonderful time, pulling off the road and getting in the river in accessible places and enjoying the quiet and beauty all on our own. On the other end of the scale was the 6-something earthquake that shook the park just a few minutes after we arrived!”

“Studied for the MCAT…Went to Florida with friends for Disney World theme parks… Went to Huntington Central Park a lot to walk and socialize out in nature… California food is much better but Florida’s acai bowls are AMAZING, built differently.”

“Right after Spring quarter ended, we went camping and hiking in Sedona, AZ, where it was really too hot to be hiking! At the beginning of July, we did a road trip to a family reunion on a working farm in northwest Texas, and spent a day at Capulin Volcano in New Mexico. Then in August we spent a few lovely, cool, and very green weeks in Massachusetts and Maine, and had a memorable day white water rafting. We saw a lot of family, enjoyed some very different parts of this beautiful country and spent a lot of time outdoors, which is the definition of vacation in our family!”
