Amidst the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, our seniors have great aspirations and are moving onto bigger and better things. After graduating from La Sierra University, our graduating seniors are heading to the following locations:

  • University of California Berkeley, School of Law
  • Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC
  • Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry
  • Loma Linda University, School of Allied Health Professions
  • Loma Linda University, School of Medicine

Others have plans to take a gap year, travel the world, and focus on gaining experience in their fields in the form of internships and jobs.

A few seniors had some inspiring words of wisdom to share with their peers:

Brendon Wilson, future filmmaker/director:

“Be selfish! Do what you want to do in your time as an undergraduate in spite of social pressure or wanting to graduate within a certain amount of time. Spend some time abroad. And do some solid career planning, exploring different options.”

Dong Yoon Han, future dentist:

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there since college is a time of self-discovery and learning. It is okay to make mistakes, but don’t do something that will jeopardize your career or future.

Emily Poon, future dentist:

What makes you different is what makes you great! So love all of yourself, because you’re pretty amazing!”

Hyun Ji (Joanne) Kim, future dentist:

“Balance is the key to success.  Although studying and doing well in your academics are important, it is also important to have fun!”

Paulino Sebastian Bernal, future 3D artist/modeler:
“Be sure to make as many connections as you can. Make friends, have conversations, ask  your professors for help. Being an outgoing person can only get you so far. Who knows? You might find your soulmate and/or potential career path.”
