This event involved a discussion-based panel with Dr. Maury Jackson (Divinity) and Dr. Nathan Sutter (Biology). The topic was religion/spirituality and themes of science and finding a balance between the two. This event encouraged students to engage with abstract and relevant subjects with our guest speakers as well as their peers.  The program’s Student Council–led by Kierstin Dunaway and made up of officers from all four cohorts–plans events such as these throughout the quarter.  During quarantine, all Honors events have been held via Zoom.

The two photos above are from the virtual mission trip to Guatemala that the Pre-Med Society hosted on February 13, 2021 (Saturday). The first screenshot was taken during the food and shoe donation segment of the trip. Here, a mother and son received a pair of shoes provided by the Pre-Med Society through fundraising. The second screenshot was taken during the church afternoon activities with kids in Guatemala (top row) that were conducted by students of La Sierra University. Kay Kim (club President) and Uylae Kim (club Vice President), both of who are part of the Honors Program, led this virtual trip.
